Welcome to The Chamber of Acting
This acting workshop is about growth and supporting each other. We work on acting techniques and scene study because "the goal of technique is spontaneous life" (Howard Fine). Join us in exploring the depths of character, human motivations, and stories! And most importantly TRUTH!

FAQ?
Don't worry, we got you. Here are some answers for your questions.
The Chamber is a small professional acting company focused on rigorous training, collaboration, and continued growth. Actors work together in focused 8-week blocks. We meet once a week, developing our craft through scene study, technique, text analysis, and honest, responsive work.
With a maximum of 8 actors in each block, the environment stays sharp, supportive, and deeply invested in the work. The Chamber is built around the idea that great acting develops through consistency, trust, and being surrounded by other committed actors who challenge and inspire you.
There’s a facilitator guiding the work, but the room itself is collaborative. Everyone brings their own experience, instincts, and perspective, with the shared aim of pursuing truthful, specific, and fully lived performances under imaginary circumstances.
Members in The Chamber train together once a week in focused 8-week blocks through scene study, screen acting sessions, technique work, self-tape labs, text analysis, and practical audition preparation.
Sessions are practical, rigorous, and collaborative. Actors are encouraged to take risks, challenge habits, and develop greater specificity and freedom in their work.
Eight weeks of focused, structured training across scene study, acting technique, screen work and self-tape labs with only 8 actors in the room, so you're actually working, not watching.
Sessions are facilitated by people in the company based on their own professional experience, occasionally alongside an outside practitioner. No teacher, no syllabus, just working actors holding each other to a standard.
Outside of sessions, it functions like a company self-tape support, audition prep, sharing opportunities, watching theatre together. The kind of creative community most actors want but rarely find.
If you're already serious about the work, it's a place to stay sharp, stay connected, and keep growing between jobs. That's it.
£150 per 8-week block

Anyone who is 18+ and has trained at a drama school/ higher education level or worked professionally. It's not suitable for hobbyists or beginners.
The chamber is a place actors can come to play freely. We get to use tools we've learnt from outside or there on the day without fear of being judged. In a world where actors are expected to achieve other peoples vision, this place helps us achieve our own.
You come out better than when you went in even if it's by 1%

Since starting classes with Razak at The Chamber in January, my craft, and my connection to it, has evolved and deepened in ways I could only have hoped for. Razak brings a rare combination of respect, patience, humility, and a deep presence to his guidance and his teaching. He creates a space that feels both grounded and electric, while also full of spontaneity: a place where you are invited to push past your limitations and truly explore what’s possible as an actor when focusing on the various Meisner techniques and scene work. His passion for the work is infectious, and his commitment to each individual student shines in every session. I have immense respect and admiration for Razak, both as an artist and as a teacher, and I feel grateful to be part of what he’s building with The Chamber as it’s a truly special environment that nurtures understanding, confidence and craft in equal measure.

'Humans' (AMC), 'Millie Inbetween' (CBBC), 'Flatmates' (BBC)
The Chamber is a place where iron sharpens iron. Everyone is the room is so generous, caring deeply about the craft & each other. It's so encouraging to be in a space where you know you can grow.

'Red Eye' (ITV), 'Out of Her Mind' (BBC), 'The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin' (Apple TV+)
I’ve been to several workshops with The Chamber, and always found them challenging and exciting. Razak is very good at introducing his deep understanding of Meisner to novices like myself, but he never gets caught up in the weeds or doctrinaire about it if another approach would be more helpful.
The scene work at The Chamber is always of a high standard- the material is rich, the atmosphere both encouraging and daring, and I’ve always found that Razak and the other attendees have a great wealth of knowledge and experience that enhances my own efforts.

'Outlander' (HBO), 'The Crown' (Netflix), Misbehaviour (Disney+)
